How to clean the seats in your car

No matter how careful you are, food and liquids love to leave marks on your car seats. Of course, you’ll want to keep your SEAT (Say-at) looking good as new. Here’s some step-by-step instructions to easily clean your car seats with items you might have handy at home. 

How to Clean Leather Car Seats

What you’ll need:  

- A vacuum 

- Leather Cleaner 

- Firm sponge or cloth for working away dirt

- Extra cloth for wiping clean

- Microfibre cloth for drying

 

Step OneVacuum the seat to pick up any crumbs.

Step TwoUse a leather cleaner to remove dirt, oil and grease that has built up on the seat.

Step ThreeSpray this on a section at a time, and work it in with a firm sponge, soft brush or a cloth to lift the dirt.

Step FourUse a clean, damp cloth to wipe over the seat, then dry it off with a microfibre.

Step Five: Repeat for all sections of the seat.

How to Clean Fabric Car Seats 

What you’ll need:  

- Interior Shampoo (which you’ll be able to find at your local car shop)

- A sponge

- An absorbent cloth 

- A bucket of clean water 

- A vacuum

 

Step OneVacuum the seat to pick up any crumbs.

Step Two: Spray the interior shampoo on to your seat, one section at a time. Avoid doing the whole seat at once, as you’ll end up with a patchy uneven finish. 

Step Three: Take a damp sponge and scrub the seat. Add more cleaner and rinse the sponge as you go. 

Step Four: Take the absorbent cloth, wiping it over the seat to lift the dirt. Rinse it out in the bucket as you go.

Step FiveRepeat each step for all sections of the seat.
