Overhead Camshaft

Overhead camshafts make for the most efficient form of valve control in modern internal combustion engines and so are to be found in all models of the SEAT range. The drive for overhead camshafts via the crankshaft is carried out either by means of a chain or a toothed belt. In particularly powerful engines with a sporty design and multi-valve technology, two overhead camshafts, one on the inlet side, the other on the outlet side, take care of valve control.
